Maureen Denise McCormick, the sole child from Richard McCormick Irene McCormick, was born in Woodland Hills California on 5 August 1956. Her father was an educator at school while her mother was a stay at home mom. There are three brothers older than her: Michael Dennis and Kevin. McCormick was a talented artist and singer from the age of 6. She perform shows using puppets for the neighbors. When she was just 6years old, she won the Baby Miss San Fernando Valley competition. Pat Domigan from the Jack Wormser Agency then called her and asked whether she was looking to pursue a career in show business. McCormick was hired to star in her debut major part in 1964, in an tv commercial featuring Mattels new doll, Baby Pattaburp. The commercial was re-run in 1964 for Mattels Chatty Cathy toy and soon was cast as the main character in The Wind It up and It is Broken, a show at La Jolla Playhouse. The Brady Bunch McCormick's audition was in the company of over 1200 other kids to play the oldest towheaded girl in The Brady Bunch. The show starred Florence Henderson and Robert Reed newlyweds, who shared the same family as a blended one. The show ran for five years. McCormick, in her book Heres the Story Surviving Marcia Brady And Finding My True Voice Published In 2008 McCormick disclosed that during the fifth season of the TV show, she was close to losing her virginity with her brother Barry Williams. He was 19. She was 16. This would have occurred as she describes. The timing for our marriage was not the right one.
